VAT Exemptions

Save with VAT exemption on mobility products

If you have a long-term illness or disability, you may be eligible to pay no VAT on certain mobility products and services. At Countrywide Mobility, we know this can be a complex topic - but our friendly team is here to guide you through it.

Who qualifies?

To claim VAT relief, you must be chronically sick or disabled, meaning a long-term physical or mental condition that significantly affects your ability to carry out everyday activities. This doesn’t include temporary injuries or general old age without disability.

If you're unsure how you are classified, speak to your GP or medical professional.

What does the VAT exemption cover?

VAT relief can apply to a wide range of mobility products and services, including:

  • Wheelchairs, scooters, riser recliners, and adjustable beds
  • Stairlifts, hoists, and other equipment designed solely for disabled use
  • Installation, repairs, and adaptations of qualifying equipment
  • Some vehicle and equipment hire or lease agreements

These items must be for your own personal or domestic use, and we’ll need a completed VAT Exemption Form with your order.

What you need to do

If you’re eligible, simply complete a VAT Exemption Declaration, available in store or via email, and return it to us with your order. We can accept forms by post or email.
