A Guide to the Best Adjustable Beds
For some, getting a good night’s sleep can often be a challenge; aches, pains, arthritis and other health conditions can get in the way, costing you an uninterrupted night. That’s why it’s so important to choose not only the right mattress but also the right bed for your body.
Here at Countrywide Mobility, we have some of the very best adjustable beds available, perfect for residential or care home scenarios, as well as for hospitals and at-home use.
In this blog post, we’ll highlight some of the beds we have available and the benefits they have so that you can choose the right one to suit your needs.
Alerta Lomand bed
The Alerta Lomand bed range is one of the best adjustable beds for those on a budget. It comes in three different varieties: standard, low and bariatric.
Standard – The Standard Alerta Lomand bed offers top adjustment capability and safety, without the large price tag of some premium profiling beds. Its versatility makes it suitable for a range of different environments, including hospitals and care homes. Features of this bed include a knee brake adjustment, eight-function lockable handset, and a click-stop lower leg raising elevation. It also benefits from an electrically-adjusted backrest and four-section mattress support.
Low – The low profiling Alerta Lomond bed features electric adjustments and a low height for patient safety. With a 10-function lockable handset, extra-high side rails and one-way tilt adjustment, this bed offers versatility and safety for at-risk patients.
Bariatric – Great for those with complex needs, the Alerta Lomand Bariatric bed is low to the ground and offers dynamic adjustment capabilities to assist with providing top-quality care. Wider than the standard and low beds, this bed also offers an increased weight capacity, making it a good choice for patients who need bariatric pressure relief mattresses, which are heavier.
Medley Ergo Bed
The Medley Ergo Bed is one of the best adjustable beds for those who need extra support, providing a range of height combinations. This means that carers can treat patients in a more comfortable position. The four-sectioned profiling mattress support ensures great comfort for the patient, and the leg support is equipped with Rastofix, meaning its positioning can suit the individual’s unique needs.
The bed also has an optional lifting pole, enabling the patient to lift themselves and move independently, and also has double-height end positions for optimum support when it is needed.

Garnet Bed
The five-part K-Frame of the Garnet Bed offers customisable support to various areas of the body, and the spring beech slats offer optimal back support. These features promote good blood circulation, especially around troublesome joints and, with an ergonomic handset and emergency back-up motor, you can benefit from independent movement. Other features of the Garnet Bed include twin wheel castors, splashproof motor and a heavy-duty frame.
